As you may be aware, the UAE recently updated its travel naming policy, stating that passengers travelling to and from the Emirate must ensure that their passports include both their primary (first name) and secondary (surname) names.
These new rules sparked considerable debate among travellers, and the UAE has been forced to revise the policy and provide relaxation for travellers who have only a single name on their passports.

Relaxation for Travellers with Single Name
Now, UAE has allowed travellers who already have their visas and have their father/family name on their passports. Furthermore, such visitors will be eligible for a Visa on arrival.
Travellers with a single name on passports but have visas issued with more than one i.e., with family name or father’s name and the family name or father’s name is mentioned on the passport shall be allowed to travel.
Travellers with a single name on their passport and eligible for Visa on arrival and have the family name or father’s name mentioned on the passport shall be allowed to travel
This means that if your passport only has your single name and your father’s or family name on the last page and your visa to the UAE has already been issued, you can travel. If your visa is not issued by November 21, you will only be able to travel if you are eligible for the Visa-On-Arrival.
Travellers are also advised not to hesitate to contact the NAIC call centre or the airline for any additional clarification.
